Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
A name or case number entered in a search box is sent directly to the outside company operating that tool. The provider processes the query and supplies its results. Bastrop County Court Docket does not retain or log those search terms on its own systems.
Messages and Contact Submissions
An email sent to us may be kept as needed to prepare and deliver a response. The message remains within our organization unless disclosure is required by a valid legal obligation.
Data We Gather Automatically
Our servers automatically receive certain technical information when a page loads:
- Page-view dates and times
- Referring website, when one is supplied
- Pages viewed and approximate time spent on them
- Device category and operating system
- Browser name and version
- Internet Protocol address
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies are small files placed on a device to help measure how visitors use the pages, including popular routes and exit points. Analytics providers help combine that traffic into broader reports. A browser can block cookies through its settings, although disabling them may change how some features work.
What We Do With This Data
- Diagnosing errors and other technical problems
- Measuring which resources readers use
- Maintaining site availability and performance
- Forwarding a search to the selected outside provider
- Displaying advertising that may reflect visitor interests
No Court-Record Data on File
Bastrop County Court Docket does not host, maintain, compile, or sell a database of docket records or personal case information. Its content identifies the Bastrop County courts, clerks, local portal, and statewide routes through which official records may be found. It is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and visitor information is not assembled into consumer reports or profiles of other people.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies power the search boxes. Information submitted to a tool is governed by that provider's privacy terms, not this policy. Each provider determines its own retention, processing, and sharing practices. Review those terms before sending a query.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to Bastrop County clerk pages, court portals, Texas case-search systems, legal resources, and outside search services. Once a reader follows such a link, the destination's privacy policy controls the visit. Review it before providing personal details.
Some advertising providers may measure activity across websites to select ads. That processing occurs through the provider's systems rather than ours.
Who Might See Your Data
Personal data is not sold. Limited information may be available to:
- Government or law-enforcement bodies acting under valid legal process
- Advertising networks serving placements on the pages
- Analytics providers measuring visits and performance
- Search providers receiving queries through their tools
How We Protect Your Data
Reasonable security measures are used to protect collected information. No internet service can guarantee absolute security, however, so the possibility of unauthorized access cannot be eliminated.
Users Under 18
The service is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone younger than 18. If a minor's information is identified, a request may be made for its deletion.
Your Data Rights
Rights concerning personal data may arise under Texas privacy and consumer-protection law. The Texas Public Information Act, Government Code Chapter 552, does not make this private resource a government custodian. Access to judicial records follows court law, including Texas Rule of Judicial Administration 12. For information controlled here, a person may:
- Object to certain forms of processing
- Request deletion of eligible information
- Seek correction of inaccurate data
- Ask for access to personal information held about them
Updates to This Policy
This policy may be revised as practices or legal duties change. A revised version becomes available on this page with an updated effective date, so readers should review it periodically.
